Two big lumps of mahogany turned to make the base and to take the light fitment surround the six cylinder camshaft from a 1970’s Ford Capri. It certainly won’t fall over easily, although if it does, you will know about the pain, it’s a heavy thing to move. I think the chrome dome and low voltage downlight set off the industrial scale of the piece.
The cost to you – only £90. To me? A weeks graft each evening, the canibalised lamp, rewiring, switch, and cost of the camshaft in the first instance.
Overall though, a unique piece of automotive interior design (even if I say so myself!)
Have a great day.
