So we’ve done a book with a pipe to hang your coat on, we’ve done a book hook with spoons and standard hangers. Today I did them with brass knobs on.
They will be in Life’s Little Larks, Glovers Court, Preston presently.

Isn’t it great to get compliments? I’ve just had the fantastic Dan Jones from http://www.danproductions.co.uk/ tag me on the old face booky to say he’s got his shade sorted and the lamp we knocked up looks great in situ on the piano.
From collection
All the way through to display.
I think the music and butterflies go well, and the position on the piano couldn’t be better!

It’s not surprising that necklaces are the oldest known form of jewelry – they are simple, beautiful, and take a proud and prominent place on the wearer’s chest. But necklaces have come a very long way since the shells and beads worn by ancient humans – today’s necklace designs have picked up a few cool new tricks since then!

The only one’s I don’t like are the human hair. All the others are great. Check them out!

"Ceci n’est pas une pipe." – Rene Magritte.
Correct Rene, it’s a coat hook!

Barbecue season is upon us: and the air is thick with the smell of sizzling burgers. Make sure yours goes with a bang, rather than a fizzle, with these handy Hellmann’s Hacks.

With the weather set like it is, get the work done, get finished and spark up the BBQ. Alternative uses for Tortilla Chips, brilliant use of ice to get juicy burgers, apple juice and lemon segments. I know what I’ll be doing with the kids on Saturday!

Wow! What a super day.
Not often you hear that from me. Particularly about me sitting in a field, in Cumbria, in dodgy weather, on a Sunday, after getting up early to get there!
However, David and his pals have generated a laid back, festival feel, motor and more show which really worked for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not rich after it, there’s always the sale that got away, but we can become richer in more ways than simple finance. These guys created a real festival vibe with marquee, auto jumble, artizan, bespoke and the downright weird (taxi photobooth with no engine and mirrored windows serviced by a Pearly King) mixing well with petrolheads, skateboarders and BMX’ers. The place was busy from early, there was plenty to see and do for visitors, and it seemed to me that any grump pots had been refused entry at the gate. The happy, smiling and friendly vibe continued all day!
The BMX’ers were awesome, using a transit van roof as a take off platform these guys got big, I mean BIG air, and pulled off fantastic tricks normally reserved for the X-Games arenas.
Our hosts were super, sorting out any issues and always smiling as they went.
The cars on display seemed to have come from miles. There were plenty, and the quality of some was very good.
I don’t normally review events, let’s face it, if they’re no good I won’t be there next time. But with TotalRetroShow I’ve already asked for an invite next time. I hope the boys are waking this Monday morning with a well deserved hang over and warm glow from the excellent reviews they deserve. Other firsts for me include my first “TurnedOutNice” sponsorship and mention in programme and on tannoy, and first sale of the new hub cap clock items.
Great day, great hosts, great vibe!
See you all next time!

I’ll be there from bright and early on Sunday. Turnedoutnice.co.uk is delighted to sponsor the “Show ‘n’ Shine” competition. The trophy is made out of turned Lignum Vitae – the hardest and densest wood traded (legally) in the world. It’s what they used to make police truncheons out of and the piece here has fantastic colouration and was begging to have some antique oil shine. Atop is a Renault conrod.
I’m looking forward to seeing some awesome 70’s cars, as well as talking all things petrol and showing off some new unique items.
I’ve got a rear brake disk from a BMW ’80’s motorbike – now a wall clock. The wood is fixed to the disk using two sixpenny piece washers, re-cycle, re-use!
Finally, to go with the stripped and reused Yamaha R1 Gearbox which is now a bunch of desk tidies, I’ve got a range of hubcap clocks.

You decide!
I’ve got a “Deals with the Devil” in red for hanging your cloak off.
I’ve a drunk octopus wanting to fight you (on a Ghost Stories book).
And a “Modern Trout Fishing” by W. Carter Platts, not that I’m fishing for a compliment!
Have a great day, and let me know what you think of the latest to come out of my “Man Cave” (a.k.a. The Garage!)

Look what Not On The High Street has done, apparently to try to promote small business and Mothers Day.
Mothers Day, yeah, I can see that, but promoting small businesses? I’d like the royal family a whole lot more if these were real and not the fakes they are.
Genuine gear – always at Turnedoutnice. Have a great Sunday.
